    The Role: The Mobile Application Developer is responsible for the development of a cross platform mobile app for YSI life sciences and water quality products. This role will working closely with marketing and product development teams to specify software requirements, architect, design and develop customer facing mobile apps for lab and field instrumentation applications.

     

    Essential Duties/Principal Responsibilities:

     

    • Interface with remote mobile app development team and serve as primary liaison with local R&D and marketing.
    • Act as technical lead for mobile app development.
    • Support other members of the software and R&D development teams and mentor software staff in mobile app skill set.
    • Evaluate new technologies and software products to determine viability.
    • Ensure that all development and design work is thoroughly documented and organized for future reference.
    • Software testing and maintenance of new products.

     

    Minimum Qualifications: Education, Experience, Skills, Abilities, License/Certification: 

     

    • Solid communications skills, both verbal and written. Ability to articulate very technical concepts to non-technical team members and ability to mentor others.
    • Ability to work with a cross-functional team.
    • Ability to work in a product development team environment.
    • Ability to multi-task.
    • Ability to debug and problem solve scientific software.
    • Good working understanding of mathematics.
    • Requires minimal direction.
    • Experience with testing and testing frameworks.
    • Knowledge of basic code documentation practices.
    • Ability to meet designated deadlines and provide adequate project status updates
    • Experience in Android development platform, specifically using Xamarin.
    • Experience in iOS development platform, specifically using Xamarin.
    • Project Management.
    • BS in Computer Science or Computer Engineering.
    • 4+ years of experience app development.
    • Proven app life-cycle experience, demonstrated deployments to app stores.
