    THE ROLE: Coordinates the activities related to the manufacturing engineering process across the NA sites, working closely with production, R&D and procurement department, defining appropriated manufacturing strategies and the most innovative technologies (including Industry 4.0) to be used to meet the GC strategy in terms cost effectiveness and safety. Contributes to Define and Control the GPA’s assigned to each site and evaluates the potential synergies between the different sites across the regions.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    • Coordinate all the ME managers across NA sites, by dotted line responsibility, to implement all the strategic activities, technologies & processes according to the AWS strategy. In doing this He / She should collaborate and supported by the Site leaders.
    • Propose and coordinate the overall investment strategy across the NA sites.
    • Works with R&D for the strategic Investments definition trough XPD Process.
    • Provides guidance to XPD Engineers regarding design concepts for a best utilize of existing equipment and manufacturing technology.
    • Ensure the technology alignments with the technologic status of the art including the industry 4.0 philosophy.
    • Explore the market searching for innovative solutions in all the technology area where we are acting (es. machining, welding and brazing, assembly, materials handling , automation , robotics ,etc)
    • Work with product manager, R&D and Procurement Dpt and site leaders to define the best options and determinate make or buy strategies.
    • Coordinate the site plans across the NA facilities to ensure most efficient and productive behaviors.
    • Cooperate with the ME site managers to define inspection and test requirements into the production plan and exchange best practice across AWS and widely across Xylem.
    • Support the ME site managers in improving of machinery & equipment performances, and He / She collaborate in investigating and initiating corrective actions to solve problems to assure costs effectiveness , product quality and safety behavior .

Withholds judgment until he has sufficient information to promote the decision make process, assuring the follow up when needed.
    • Process improvement: Contribute in collecting across AWS - Xylem globally all the available best practices and roll out them across the NA & Regional sites. He / She also participate to define and promote innovative solutions to be wildly implemented within AWS.
    • Prioritization and planning: effectively manages multiple tasks to complete complex projects. He/ She well is organized and efficient, with good experiences in Project management , able to define objectives, sequence, timeline, interdependencies and contingencies for multiple projects or initiatives, optimizing timeline and resources allocation to overcome unexpected obstacles.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Mechanical or Electronic engineering degree required.
    • Minimum Five years of experience in the same activities would be preferred.
    • Good spoken and written English is required.
    • Lean approach knowledge
    • Knowledge CAD 3D software (Pro.Engineer or equivalent software).  
    • Availability to travel.
    • Project management

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • VBLSS certification or equivalent is preferred
    • Materials and automation knowledge will be preferred.
