    THE ROLE: Xylem seeks to hire a Sales Representative to work in our Mokena IL office.. The Sales Representative will be responsible for soliciting orders, selling the company’s product line and accessories, and representing the company in accordance with company policies in the area assigned; including maintaining an awareness of local competitive conditions.  This is an exciting opportunity to join Xylem and to work with people who share in the passion to face global water challenges.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    • Work with local end-users, operators, plant/utility manager or director, and consulting engineers to meet or exceed customer pumping needs by utilizing Flygt products.
    • Conduct, lunch and learn presentations to inform customers of latest Flygt products
    • Act as a liaison between the operations/ maintenance departments and engineering departments within a commercial municipal customer site to ensure better station design utilizing Flygt products
    • Monitor bid boards for opportunities and work with inside sales staff on job quotations.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Civil)
    • 2+ years of technical sales or sales related experience (pump industry preferred) in the Commercial/Municipal markets.  \This position may require overnight travel. 
    • Individual must possess a valid driver’s license with good driving record, have a high mechanical aptitude, superior customer service, computer and presentation skills, and have solid logical troubleshooting capability. 
    • Underground construction experience is a plus.   
    • Experience with pumps, mixers, electrical controls, hydraulics, and ability to read electrical and mechanical schematics is a plus.
