THE ROLE: Xylem seeks to hire a R&D Test Technician .The R&D Test Technician is a member of the product development engineering team, and will have the responsibility of assisting the team in the development of new products and the maintenance of existing products. To properly perform the essential functions of the job, the R&D Technician must have an exceptional mechanical and electrical aptitude, a desire to design and build electromechanical test mechanisms, be familiar with data acquisition systems, and be detail oriented. The technician must also have the ability to clearly communicate written and orally with peers, engineers, and management. The R&D Engineering Technician will be expected to learn about the products being tested, how they are to be tested, and the reason why the testing is required. After undergoing a sufficient training period, the technician must also be able to identify and report on problems, hazards, or any other technical issues encountered during the testing process. The ability to create, work with and read schematics, drawings and electrical diagrams is required, as is the willingness to work in a test lab environment.
