    THE ROLE: Xylem seeks to hire a Global Indirect Procurement Category Manager who will be responsible for strategic sourcing and management across multiple Indirect Procurement categories, with focus on North America but also collaboration required with global sourcing teams.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES/PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Responsible for savings & Spend Management
    • Requirements Gathering / Stakeholder Engagement
    • RFI/RFQ/RFP with Supplier Selection and Contract Negotiations
    • Procurement Operations and Business Controls
    • Preferred Supplier Performance Management
    • Will collaborate as an individual contributor with a small team to collectively manage strategic sourcing and procurement operations for+$150M/yrof Global spend across the following categories
      • Business & Professional Services
      • HR-related services
      • MRO
      • Other indirect procurement
    • Will be asked to deliver industry competitive savings, serviceability, and controls to the Xylem organization via strategic sourcing activities and operational process management. 
    • Should have experience and successful track record to collaborate favorably with relevant stakeholders, including:
      • Gaining buy-in from internal management and external consultants on plans/proposals
      • Negotiating with suppliers on contract terms & conditions
      • Participating on project teams to implement and achieve project deliverables
      • Managing and enforcing procurement policies

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, LICENSE/CERTIFICATION:

    Bachelor Degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related discipline(MBA or equivalent a plus)

    +10 years of relevant experience, with focus on sourcing and negotiating with suppliers/service providers and delivering annual cost reductions

    Project management experience

    Effective verbal/written English communication and presentationskills to collaborate with local and global teams

    Commercial business acumen

    Buying experience in multiple purchasing functions (i.e. commodity or indirect categories)

    Effective interpersonal skills and ability to effectively interact with all levels of external and internal customers and stakeholders

    Strong teamwork and organizational skills with the ability to multi-task

    Purchasing systems, policies and processes

    Advanced negotiation skills

    Proficiency in Microsoft Office products and use of computer applications

    Category/commodity cost driver knowledge

    Category strategy development knowledge
