    THE ROLE: Xylem seeks to hire a Controls Engineer Specialist. The Controls Engineer Specialist adds value to our products through superior customer service in quotations and follow-up while developing a close supportive relationship with customers, Territory Managers, Market Development Managers and Regional Managers Sales Team. This role will be based out of the Seneca Falls, NY office and may need to travel to service controls in the field. This position is accountable to provide interface with external customers, sales and operations and will be the primary contact for customers and sales for monitoring & control business.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    • Handle and process customer complaints and determine requirements to resolve
    • Determine Tier 3 technical resolution for troubleshooting and quotations
    • Prepare quotes including price and lead-time, size and select products
    • Communicate to vendors for needs on special items
    • Assist in training program for Drives onsite and in classroom
    • Work with Product Line Manager (PLM) on Quality issues
    • Work with field technicians for troubleshooting resolution
    • Maintaining and communicating changes to appropriate parties as required
    • 3 Hour Response time to Calls
    • Travel to service controls in the field 10-20% of time

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Mechanical or Electrical Engineering Bachelors Degree from an Accredited University or 5 years technical field service experience
    • Network software capable: MS office, Outlook
    • 3 to 5 years of technical experience in controls, drives, VFDs
    • Customer support experience
    • Significant Education or Experience in working with electrical components
    • Handle customer referrals in a professional manner
    • Understand the control system and software

     

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Proficient use of ERPLX, MS Office, Global Vault
    • Experience with Sales
    • 2-4 years of Customer Service experience
    • Knowledge of business operating systems i.e. SAP or ERP system
    • 2 years of experience in a B2B technical product line
    • Experience working with Salesforce.com, Microsoft Dynamics a plus
