    THE ROLE: Xylem seeks to hire a Senior, Global Diversity and Inclusion Manager (Strategic Contract Position).  This role will be responsible for D&I Thought Leadership. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, promoting, and communicating the overall global D&I strategic plan. Leverage subject matter expertise in organization development, inclusion and talent to create strategies and tactics that improve an inclusive culture. They will also Manage the D&I council; guiding the participants on current best practices and ensuring membership stays inclusive with rotation of members. As well as be Responsible for developing, tracking, promoting and communicating meaningful metrics/targets.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:  

    • D&I Thought Leadership

      • Responsible for developing, promoting, and communicating the overall global D&I strategic plan.  Leverage subject matter expertise in organization development, inclusion and talent to create strategies and tactics that improve an inclusive culture.
      • Manage the D&I council; guiding the participants on current best practices and ensuring membership stays inclusive with rotation of members.
      • Responsible for developing, tracking, promoting and communicating meaningful metrics/targets.
      • Develop and implement methods to assess diversity and inclusion strategy effectiveness.
    • Employee Engagement

      • Assist with implementing educational programs and services on diversity, including creating and delivering training programs in conjunction with Learning COE.
      • Develop and execute on communications, including; social media, partnering with the Internal Communications team.
      • Establish and facilitate global Employee Resource Networks (ERNs).
      • Coordinate and plan a full range of special programs and events.
    • External Engagement

      • Facilitate supplier diversity by partnering with Procurement
      • Partner with Marketing teams on customer engagement by sponsoring diversity focused sessions at trade shows
      • Partner with Watermark (Xylem’s corporate citizenship program) leaders.
      • Develop and execute on communications, including; social media, partnering with PR and the External Communications team.
      • Conduct ongoing research on best practices and recommend strategies for continuous improvement.
      • Develop and maintain relationships with external professional organizations focused on improving diversity representation, inclusion and diverse supplier relationships within corporations.
      • Identify implicit bias in business processes and work together with compliance to recommend improvements.
      • Gather the latest external diversity statistics and maintain statistical data on diversity within the organization.
      • Perform additional duties and assist with special projects as assigned.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    • 8+ years of previous global D&I experience, including implementing disruptive D&I models, strategies and communications
    • Previous global experience designing and delivering D&I training programs across multiple audiences, locations and functions
    • Experience in crafting communications aimed at influencing individuals throughout all levels of a global company (C-Suite through individual contributors)
    • Previous experience using D&I data and insights to craft approaches and influence change
    • Bachelor’s degree
    • Both strategic and tactical, with the willingness to design and implement a D&I roadmap
    • Collaborative approach

    • Proven track record of problem solving, taking on entrepreneurial challenges and simplifying the complex
