    Godwin, a Xylem brand, offers a broad product line of fully automatic self-priming pumps used in temporary and permanent applications.  With a full range of diesel and electric pumps available to purchase or rent, Godwin pumps are used for dewatering and liquids transfer in mining, constructions, municipal and industrial projects around the world.

    THE ROLE: The Operator/Field Service 2 role is responsible for installing and dismantling pumping systems and pipelines on customer job sites independently or as part of a crew. The Operator/Field Service 2 role will maintain a clean and orderly work site environment to enable safe and efficient movement of workers and motorized equipment throughout the site.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    • Work independently or as part of a crew to install and dismantle single pump systems and pipelines on customer job sites.
    • Identify different pump groups and understand basic use of each pump group
    • Understand how a Prime Guard operates
    • Understand priming systems, options, remote systems and A-91 panels
    • Apply proper measurements (center-to-center or face-to-face) to HDPE pipe. Calculate angles to ensure proper installation.
    • Understand and react to how weather conditions effect HDPE fusion.
    • Perform vacuum checks on installed pumping systems.
    • Perform proper sequencing to break down pump systems and pipelines to avoid spills and/or contamination to surrounding work area. Properly flush systems.
    • Safely utilize chain saws and other hand tools to properly cut and break down pipelines. Understand how and where to cut pipe to avoid spills, damage and excessive scrapping.
    • Thoroughly inspect and evaluate condition of pipe, hose and fittings upon dismantling. Notify supervisor or site supervisor if any equipment is damaged.
    • Prepare Bill of Ladings (BOLs) to load out equipment from job site. Coordinate with dispatch to arrange proper timing of truck arrivals to ensure material handling equipment and/or personnel are available.
    • Follow all safety processes and procedures and maintain a ‘Safety First’ approach when completing daily work tasks. Complete a Job Safety Assessment before beginning any job on a customer site. Ensure compliance with all Personal Protective Equipment requirements.
    • Travels as needed (overnight, weekends and extended periods) to meet customer needs.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    • High school or general equivalency degree
    • Minimum 3 years of experience working on construction or industrial work sites.
    • Minimum 2 years of experience fusing HDPE pipe using rolling fusion machines (1” to 48”), track fusion machines (6” to 20”and12” to 36”) and barcode processors (electro fusion machines)
    • Minimum 1 year experience operating heavy industrial equipment, i.e., telehandlers, skid steers, air tuggers, etc.
    • Familiar with side wall fusion and extrusion welding
    • Familiar with process to weld in ditch and stitching
    • Familiar with 4710 resin fusion guidelines
    • Ability to install valves, gate valves, manifolds and tapping sleeves
    • Ability to level and install cribbing
    • Ability to vent and place drains as needed
    • Ability to install saddles
    • Ability to set single and multiple dip tubes
    • Ability to set floats and transducers
    • Ability to fill lines, test and check system for leaks on suction and discharge lines
    • Ability to start-up simple system
    • Ability to install freeze protection
    • Ability to install a Wellpoint system
    • Ability to read blueprints
    • Ability to complete basic math calculations (add, subtract, divide and multiply)
    • Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers, supervisors, managers and customers
    • Strong organizational and time management skills
    • Ability follow directions and work independently in a fast-paced environment
    • Ability to work flexible hours in order to respond to customer emergencies
    • Ability to read and write legibly
    • Ability to safely operate diesel powered hydraulic lifting equipment, i.e., forklifts, front-end loaders, two-motors, telehandlers, etc.
    • Valid driver’s license with good driving record; Class A or B license preferred
    • Fusion certification
    • Forklift certification
