JOB SUMMARY

Lead the development of top-level architecture of software systems for the Command and Control of our Automated Transit Network. This is a cornerstone product development role that will operate at the senior engineering level. 

The role involves designing the software architecture, and coordinating the requirements and work of both internal teams and expert vendors in areas including:

• Management and control of the Automated Transit Network (ATN).
• Automated Transit Vehicle Routing for maximum capacity.
• ATN Simulation for testing and optimization.
• Safety Protection systems requiring Functional Safety Certification.
• Data networking systems with demanding latency and reliability requirements.

Other responsibilities include:

• Developing appropriate engineering processes and methods
• Leading the development of the technical requirements for software and related subsystems
• Providing teams and vendors with appropriate subsystem requirements and interfaces to direct their work
• Providing teams and vendors with appropriate testing and validation procedures

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• 10+ years of experience in relevant complex engineering areas
• Experience driving software architecture in a complex hardware-software system
• Experience as a technical team lead 
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Experience setting design requirements, establishing processes, and writing validation plans to meet high-level functional targets
