    Role Overview

    The Director of Marketing is a strategic leader responsible for developing and executing comprehensive marketing strategies to drive brand awareness, customer acquisition, and revenue growth at a global tour operator. This role requires a combination of creative vision, analytical acumen, and strong leadership skills to oversee a multi-disciplinary marketing team and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to achieve business objectives.

    Key Responsibilities

    1. Strategic Planning and Leadership:

    • Develop and communicate the company's marketing vision, goals, and strategies to align with overall business objectives and growth targets.

    • Lead the marketing team in translating strategic initiatives into actionable plans, ensuring consistency and alignment across all marketing channels and campaigns.

    • Provide strategic guidance and mentorship to marketing team members, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

    1. Integrated Marketing Campaigns:

    • Oversee the development and execution of integrated marketing campaigns leveraging the Paid, Earned, Shared, and Owned (PESO) media model to maximize reach and impact.

    • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including product, sales, and customer experience teams, to identify key messaging, target audiences, and campaign objectives.

    • Develop and monitor campaign performance metrics and KPIs, leveraging data insights to optimize strategies and drive ROI across all marketing channels.

    1. Brand Management and Positioning:

    • Define and maintain the company's brand identity, values, and positioning in the marketplace, ensuring consistency and alignment across all marketing initiatives and touchpoints.

    • Develop brand messaging and creative assets that resonate with target audiences and differentiate the company from competitors in the travel and tourism industry.

    • Monitor brand sentiment and reputation, proactively addressing any issues or challenges that may impact brand perception or customer trust.

    1. Market Research and Customer Insights:

    • Conduct market research, competitive analysis, and customer segmentation studies to identify market trends, opportunities, and customer needs.

    • Use customer insights and feedback to inform product development, marketing strategies, and customer engagement initiatives, driving customer loyalty and satisfaction.

    • Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in marketing, continuously seeking opportunities to innovate and evolve marketing strategies.

    1. Team Management and Development:

    • Recruit, hire, and develop a high-performing marketing team, providing coaching, training, and performance feedback to support professional growth and development.

    • Foster a collaborative and inclusive team culture, encouraging creativity, accountability, and cross-functional collaboration to achieve shared goals.

    • Manage departmental budgets, resource allocation, and vendor relationships including an outside media agency to optimize marketing investments and ensure alignment with business objectives.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in marketing, business administration, or related field

    • 8+ years of experience in marketing, with a significant focus on digital channels

    • Demonstrated track record of developing and executing successful marketing strategies and campaigns in the travel and tourism industry or related field.

    • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, analyze market trends, and make data-driven decisions.

    • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively at all levels of the organization.

    • Proven leadership and management capabilities, with experience leading and developing high-performing teams.

    • Experience in the travel and tourism industry and with co-op marketing preferred

    • Experience at an agency or tour operator a plus

    • Must reside in the Nashville,TN area.
