    Job Description

     

    Smart72 Heating | Cooling | Solar is looking for a HVAC Service Manager who is tasked with providing direction, motivation, execution, leadership, and management of the HVAC Install Department. The HVAC Service Manager deploys all personnel, resources, and discipline to see that all HVAC units, equipment, ductwork, IAQ products, solar, plumbing and accessories are professionally installed according to manufacturer’s spec and code by following the installation manuals.

     

    Activities:

    • Ensure all work and services performed by the HVAC Install Department meets customer requirements and expectations

    • Oversee the operations of the HVAC Install Department

    • Route the HVAC Installers and HVAC Install Helpers daily

    • Ensure each safety program is in effect and followed by all HVAC Installers and HVAC Install Helpers

    • Communicate with HVAC Installers and HVAC Install Helpers to handle questions and problems

    • Attend and facilitate weekly training meetings

    • Make sure all equipment is installed according to installation manual and manufacturer’s instructions and city/county codes

    • Keep trucks and property clean and well maintained (no smoking in vehicles)

    • Attend leadership meetings to continually improve technical abilities

    • Review all invoices within from the prior day and ensure all required signatures and approvals are there as well as, recording P.O.s, payments collected, and invoices emailed to the customer

    • Recruit, Interview, and train Installers

    • Order equipment (units, crane, metal, coils, IAQ, anything else necessary to complete the job RIGHT the first time)

    • Follow through on all customer requests through to completion

    • Review all inventory and P.O.’s used on all jobs

    • Oversee the set-up of all Installations in Service Titan

    • Oversee all warranty work within the first year of installation

    • Manage all sub-contractors hired to ensure clients’ expectations are exceeded (drywall, landscaping, roofing, etc.)

    • Visit customers sites to ensure customer satisfaction

    • Review all client concerns and ensure that they are brought to successful conclusion in a timely manner

    • Call by Call debriefing while installers are onsite, ensuring everything is done correctly and completed properly

    • Oversee install inventory and maintain the warehouse/shop

    • Oversee training of installers and installation admin

    • Assist Installer and install admin payroll

    • Issue and recovery of company issued technology

    • Implement a quality control process to ensure customers’ equipment is working according to manufacturer specifications to achieve satisfactory call back rate

    • Attend department meetings as appropriate

    • Operate department within budgetary constraints

    • Track costs on all jobs in department

    • Assist in establishing yearly budget

     

    . Requirements:

    • Successful completion of a drug screening and background check

    • Clean driving record

    • High School Education and successful completion of technical schooling

    • 2 or more years of experience in a supervisory position

    • 2 or more years of experience in HVAC installation

    • EPA Certification

    • Professional appearance

    • Able to communicate effectively in written and spoken English

    • Able to read specs and blueprints and develop installation plans

    • Deep understanding of the HVAC industry

    • Able to work on roofs, in attics, and crawl spaces
