PROPULSION TECHNICIAN (2ND SHIFT – TEMPORARY)
Candidates should possess a combination of solid mechanical knowledge,
hands-on experience and the willingness and ability to learn. The
Propulsion Production technician is responsible for assembly and testing
of rocket hardware. This is a dynamic position that requires the
flexibility to work autonomously on different systems, the ability to
troubleshoot anomalies, and the ability to autonomously to defined
schedules, while keeping safety and quality at the forefront of
everything that is done.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Fabricate and test engine subassemblies according to written
instructions, procedures and specifications
- Maintain schedule by moving parts to and from other operations
- Work to planned efficiency standards for all operations
- Prepare assemblies for welding, includes maintaining rigorous
cleanliness standards and fitment requirements
- Powdercoat assemblies, includes wearing full PPE and working in
enclosed areas while using grit blasting and coating equipment
- Work safely at all times by wearing appropriate personal protection
equipment and using safe lifting and handling methods
- Operate high pressure test equipment
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or GED
- 3 years’ experience in fabrication and test of aerospace
applications
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Relevant higher education degree or vocational certificate
- 5 or more years of aerospace engine build and testing experience
- A&P license or equivalent military certifications
- Training or experience with Lean methods, Six Sigma or other quality
system tools
- Strong mathematical, basic computer, problem solving and decision
making skills, and strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proven track record of working with minimal supervision and meeting
aggressive schedules
- Understand and work to blueprint requirements
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be open to work either 1st Shift (5:00am-3:30pm) or 2nd Shift
(3:30pm-2:00am), overtime and weekends as needed
- Must be able to lift a min. of 25 lbs. unassisted
- Must be able to stand for extended periods – 8 hours min
- Must be able to stoop, bend, crawl, and maneuver in tight spaces
ITAR REQUIREMENTS:
- To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations,
including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) you
must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S.,
protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible
to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department
