DRAGON 2 MECHANICAL ENGINEER (INTERIOR STRUCTURES)
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Drive the design and development of interior structures for our
current and next-generation launch vehicles.
- Perform due diligence on designs including hand calculations, FEA,
and CAD in a fast-paced environment.
- Run design reviews internally and participate in reviews with
suppliers and customers.
- Own the prototype delivery timeline from early design through launch
and recovery.
- You will be expected to exemplify technical excellence while being
accountable for your own work.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline.
- Experience with CAD and FEA software packages.
- 2+ years experience owning the design and development of structural
components in a manufacturing environment.
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Master's degree in an engineering discipline.
- Experience with NX or other major CAD packages.
- Hands-on project experience, preferably as a team or sub-team lead.
- Experience designing interior parts and components on board a
high-performance vehicle.
- Proactive problem-solving skills such as failure analysis, root
cause investigation, and DOE creation.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication with an emphasis on
interpersonal and organizational skills.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be willing to work long hours and weekends as needed.
ITAR REQUIREMENTS:
- To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations,
including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) you
must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S.,
protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible
to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department
