    LEAD NETWORK OPERATIONS ENGINEER

    As Lead for the Starlink Network Operations Engineering Team, you will be a part of designing and operating one of the largest networks in the galaxy.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Responsible engineer for the overall ISP network design, implementation and operation
    • Leading the Network Operations Team
    • Clear planning of project stages and identify critical milestones
    • Assist with recruiting, coaching and/or developing organizational talent
    • Maintain the uptime and performance of the network
    • Manage network interconnections, network collocation sites and points of presence

    BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: 

    • 10+ years of industry experience operating global networks
    • 5+ years leading and managing teams
    • Bachelor of Science degree in engineering

    PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

    • Ability to lead and grow team members
    • Able to create documentation and procedures for the team
    • Deep understanding of carrier networks including:
      • Routing (BGP, OSPF, etc.)
      • Subscriber Management (BNG)
      • Anti-DDoS
      • Internet Services (DNS, DHCP, NTP, etc.)
      • Mobile IP
    • Possessing Cisco, Juniper or other industry certifications
    • Previous exposure to contract negotiations & vendor relationship management
    • Network peering, Content delivery networks, Data centers and collocation

    ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: 

    • Must be willing to travel globally
    • Must be available to work extended hours and weekends as needed

    ITAR REQUIREMENTS:

    • To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) you must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
