IT LOGISTICS TECHNICIAN II
SpaceX is looking for an experienced IT Logistics Technician with strong
knowledge and experience in world class IT service delivery. This
position will be responsible for supporting IT services and is
responsible for service delivery and customer satisfaction. Candidates
must have experience working in organizations capable of meeting the
demanding needs of “high caliber engineers” and supporting critical
operations such as Launch and Mission operations and 24x7 manufacturing
operations.
This role delivers the complete lifecycle of IT services for the staff
at SpaceX, from on boarding and set up, to upgrade, installation,
troubleshooting, repair and replacement of hardware and software
solutions, asset recovery and protection. The person in this position
must have strong overall IT technical skills, while also having
excellent customer services/interaction skills and superior
organizational skills.
The ideal candidate will be flexible and flourish in a fast paced and
challenging environment. He or she should be a self-starter and have
excellent motivation, leadership, and ingenuity to excel at this
position.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Understand inventory levels and maintain these levels to support the
dynamic nature of the business
- Monitor the deployment of Microsoft prepackaged images to systems
- Closely monitor ticket queue(s) to provide quality assurance of all
logistics tickets in progress
- Install and configure computers, telephones, and other common
technology/devices for new and existing SpaceX employees
- Utilize knowledge base solutions within the system in order to
follow exact steps toward resolution
- Track all open requests in the ticketing system and document all
actions taken
- Keep accurate inventory in computer system at all times
- Receive packages from vendors and enter information into computer
system
- Unbox and set up desktop computers, laptops, monitors, and other IT
related equipment
- Utilize SCCM and WDS to image and prep computers for deployment
- Capture and store images for returned assets
- Deliver product as requested to the Main, West Main, remotes and
remote locations out of state
- Ship product domestically
- Diagnose, troubleshoot and resolve requests in coordination with
Inventory Control
- Load eWaste equipment on pallets
- Keep area organized and work safely, following all safety guidelines
and policies
- Communicate effectively with every call and user
- Listen actively to determine if escalation to supervisor is the
appropriate action
- Complete time entries daily/weekly
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- 1 years of shipping/receiving or inventory experience within a
medium to large enterprise information system environment using life
cycle management of assets; specifically, procurement, receiving,
staging, configuration, distribution, retrieval, and disposal
- 1 year of logistics experience
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Exceptional customer service skills and ability to promote a
positive interactive exchange
- Broad knowledge of logistics planning and distribution of
Information Systems assets, desktops, laptops, and peripherals
- Motivated self-starter, able to work independently while maintaining
patience with the constant interruptions of needy coworkers
- Clear, concise, professional and thorough verbal and written
communication skills
- Experience installing and configuring computers, telephones, and
other common technology/devices
- Experience planning and coordinating work assignments and workloads
for logistics, ensuring adherence to departmental policy and
procedures
- Experience diagnosing, troubleshooting and resolving information
system requests in coordination with Inventory Control
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Willing to work overtime and on weekends as needed
- Able to perform tasks requiring frequent bending, stooping and
lifting of objects
- Able to lift up to 30 lbs.

- To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations,
