    MANUFACTURING ENGINEER - MACHINE SHOP AUTOMATION

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Create, develop, and deploy a high-tech, highly efficient automated machining environment utilizing Flexible Manufacturing Systems
    • Develop new machining processes as necessary for existing and new products, including equipment specification, tool selection, fixture solutions, and ongoing process control
    • Create Return of Investment analyses to support capital investment initiatives
    • Drive production efficiency improvements, specifically robotics and automation, to reduce labor, component cost and maximize quality
    • Integrate machinery with MES/ERP system to automate data transfer and streamline manufacturing processes
    • Perform structured root cause analysis of in-process failures
    • Maintain production documentation and procedures
    • Perform training of production personnel, support staff, and leadership
    • Sustain, review, and update established processes to sustain high performance and relevance to company goal

    BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelor of science in electrical, mechanical, aerospace, or manufacturing engineering
    • Minimum 3 years of professional experience in process engineering, manufacturing engineering, automation or robotics
    • Experience in process qualification using industry standard methodologies such as IQ/OQ/PQ
    • Experience with industrial automation design and implementation
    • Programming experience in PLC
    • Professional experience with CAD/CAM

    PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

    • 2 years of software development experience in a manufacturing environment
    • Experience with vision recognition software and camera systems
    • Working proficiency with DFMEA and PFMEA methodology and implementation
    • Six Sigma Belt certification
    • Ability to create and deliver presentations for IQ/OQ/PQ, PDR/CDR, and government customers
    • Ability to identify and analyze production process improvements for rate and quality
    • Hands-on engineer with a passion for continuous improvement and building the best machine shop
    • Demonstrated capability solving complex problems with little to no supervision on schedule as an individual or as a member of an integrated team
    • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
    • Experience in a fast-paced, iterative design environments within the consumer electronics, mobile handset, medical devices, aerospace, marine or automotive industries
    • Working experience in an ISO9001, AS9100 or equivalent quality system

    ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

    • Must be willing to travel up to 10% of the time
    • Must be willing to work extended hours and weekends as needed
