    LAUNCH QUALITY INSPECTOR

    Our quality inspectors are responsible for being the last line of defense in assuring mission success. You will perform in-process inspections and verify that all key performance and design characteristics are met or exceeded during launch preparation and recovered booster processing. You will be working hands on with the most cutting edge rocket technology currently available and will be part of history.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Perform in process and final end to end inspections on integrated booster assemblies and payloads.
    • Inspect, verify, and proactively support vehicle integration, in-space payload, booster recovery, and launch ground operations; assuring adherence to design, specification, and testing requirements.
    • Document production and test anomalies in accordance with prescribed procedures and process as required.
    • Communicate and help resolve quality related issues as they relate to the site and other SpaceX locations i.e. Launch Site, Production, and Test sites.
    • Process non-conforming product and assist engineering in root cause analysis and corrective action.
    • Routinely observe technical operations and offer guidance and/or serve as an additional technical resource.
    • Determine manufacturing compliance to NASA and customer, as well as internal, specifications to meet launch and mission requirements.
    • Perform other related duties, as assigned, for the purpose of ensuring an efficient and effective work environment.

    BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

    • High school diploma.
    • Minimum of 2 years of inspection experience in an aerospace environment.

    PREFERED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

    • Associate's degree or higher in quality, engineering, or related field.
    • Military experience.
    • FAA Airframe and Power plant license.
    • Knowledge of quality assurance principles, methods, and processes.
    • Knowledge of avionics and electrical systems.
    • Knowledge of aerospace propulsion and principles.
    • Knowledge of aerospace structures.
    • Knowledge of satellite assemblies.
    • Knowledge of ground support equipment (GSE), fluid & mechanical systems, and general associated equipment.
    • Strong knowledge and experience in aerospace standards.
    • Intermediate level skill with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook).
    • Intermediate level skill with Windows operating systems.
    • Secret Clearance or above.

     ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

    • General physical fitness is required for some work areas, flight hardware typically is built in tight quarters and physical dexterity.
    • Acute attention to detail and critical thinking.
    • Possess a positive “can do” attitude and be willing to assist anyone at any time.
    • Must be willing to work overtime.
