    AVIONICS PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR, BATTERIES The Avionics Production team requires a supervisor to lead the battery team, including day-to-day management of technicians and delivery schedule.  This supervisor will be responsible for ensuring success across multiple product lines for Falcon 9, Dragon 2, and satellites.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Interface with area leadership and steer the collective efforts of all battery production technicians in order to align area output with company priority.
    • Manage technicians on a daily basis, including scheduling, training, bi-annual reviews, and disciplinary action.
    • Develop and enforce standards for 5S, safety, quality, output efficiency, and other key metrics through regular monitoring, continuous improvement initiatives.
    • Identify schedule risks, communicate to leadership and internal customers, and execute mitigation plans to ensure on-time delivery.
    • Give disposition to non-conforming hardware to efficiently return them to conforming state and maintain nominal product flow.
    • Lead root cause and corrective action activities to resolve production problems.

    BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Associate's degree.
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
    • Minimum of 3 years in a leadership position.

    PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

    • SpaceX experience.
    • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline such as engineering.
    • Lean manufacturing training and experience.
    • Experience applying Design for Manufacturability, Kaizen, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methods.
    • Experience monitoring, tracking and continually improving total manufacturing cost equation.
    • Demonstrated ability to read and interpret engineering documentation and processes such as mechanical drawings, GD&T, assembly procedures / work instructions, schematics, engineering drawings, and parts lists.
    • Experience in fast-paced automated production environment with high quality requirements, e.g. aerospace or medical.
    • Able to adapt to constant changing work assignments and fast-paced work environment.
    • Proficient with computers and MS Office, ERP software and MES.

    ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

    • Must be available to work extended hours and weekends as needed.
    • Must be able to lift 25 lbs. unassisted, stoop, bend, crawl, and be able to maneuver in tight spaces.
