LEAD TEST SPECIALIST – DRAGON - 1ST SHIFT
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist in building, managing, and testing Dragon Pressure Testing
resources including, but not limited to high-pressure testing
locations, intricate fluid ground equipment, complex testing setups,
and facility/tooling projects.
- Resolve test setup issues, be able to prioritize and own scheduling
for test stands/facilities, train end users on proper testing
practices, ensure safety within the testing locations, and own
GSE/facility upgrades w/in test cells as primary project manager.
- Streamline existing and new test setups to minimize cost while
improving quality and efficiency.
- Support development and production builds as they pertain to usage
of Dragon Pressure Test cells.
- Provide recommendations for tooling design and improvement, based on
test experience and data.
- Implement standard practices, troubleshooting guides, and standard
repair procedures, including review and approval of
planning documents.
- Develop robust plans to ensure that equipment and machine capacity
is developed in line with test requirements, with a strong emphasis
on long-term sustainability, spares, cleanliness, and safety.
- Manage resources, plan, and interface with other production groups
including external vendors, manufacturing engineers,
and technicians.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in math or science or 2 year technical school
degree or 2 years of experience with high pressure testing.
- Minimum of 4 years’ experience working in an aerospace manufacturing
technician, planning, or direct support role.
- Minimum of 2 years pressure testing experience.
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Solid understanding of a variety of pressure testing components
including regulators, valves, pneumatic pumps, gauges, transducers.
- Heavy experience with installing and handling pressure fittings,
couplers, tubing.
- Hands on system build experience, e.g. heat exchangers, engines,
vacuum pump etc.
- Experience taking processes through development cycle to full volume
testing production.
- Experience with mass spectrometry.
- Basic understanding of common manufacturing processes and machines,
including mills, lathes, manual and CNC.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Experience with Design for Manufacturability and Assembly.
- Experience with Sketchup, AUTOCAD, engineering drawings, or
navigating ground software systems
- Process development, facility and line layouts.
- Lean Manufacturing Tools, PFMEA, Value Chain Mapping, Kanban, OEE
and 5S.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be able to work all shifts, overtime, and weekends as needed.
- Must be able to lift 35 lbs. unassisted.
- Must be able to stand for extended periods – 8 hours min.
- Must be able to stoop, bend, crawl, and being able to maneuver in
tight spaces.
