MANUFACTURING DEVELOPMENT ENGINEER (METALLIC STRUCTURES ASSEMBLY)
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead the production, assembly, and integration of 3D printed
components and welded components
- Develop production procedures/processes and manage the transition of
parts and assemblies from development to high flow rate production
- Implement process improvements to reduce assembly hours and
build cost. Execute design for manufacturability changes to enhance
production efficiency
- Create and maintain build schedules that list all discrete
fabrication and assembly tasks
- Ensure that all parts are fabricated, assembled, and/or purchased at
the correct time to facilitate the build schedules
- Resolve and analyze manufacturing discrepancies, while interfacing
with the quality team (resolving issues for design, fabrication,
and assembly)
- Execute changes to avoid issue recurrence
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in aerospace, manufacturing, mechanical, or
industrial engineering
- • Candidates must have at least 2 years of hands-on manufacturing,
fabrication, assembly, and/or testing experience (internship
experience can supplement for the required industry experience)
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Master's degree in aerospace, manufacturing, mechanical or
industrial engineering
- Experience with spacecraft and/or aircraft structural assemblies
- Process development, facility and line layouts,
PFMEA, Error-Proofing. Six Sigma/Lean experience is a plus
- Experience with Design for Manufacture and Assembly
- Experience with Unigraphics (UGS) and Teamcenter CAD and PDM systems
is desired
- Knowledge of metallic or composite manufacturing techniques,
processes, equipment, and other processes such as: machining,
welding, drilling, sheet metal forming, and stamping
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Position may require long hours and weekend work

U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or
eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S.
