Overview
An Early Childhood Educator supports the learning, development, and well‑being of young children, typically from ages 0–5. This role focuses on creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment that fosters social, emotional, cognitive, and physical growth.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and implement age‑appropriate lessons and activities
Support children’s social and emotional development
Observe, document, and assess children's progress
Maintain a safe and clean classroom environment
Communicate regularly with parents and caregivers
Encourage positive behavior and conflict‑resolution skills
Collaborate with staff to support overall program goals
Ensure compliance with licensing and safety regulations
Required Skills & Qualifications
Knowledge of child development and early learning principles
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Patience, empathy, and a nurturing approach
Ability to manage groups of young children

Basic record‑keeping and documentation skills
Education & Experience
Certificate, diploma, or degree in Early Childhood Education (or equivalent)
CPR and First Aid certification (often required)
Experience working with young children in a care or educational setting
