About the Role:

Port A Outfitters in Port Aransas, TX is looking for an enthusiastic Sporting Goods Sales Clerk to join our team! Responsibilities:

Assist customers in selecting sporting goods, fishing gear, outdoor equipment, and apparel

Maintain product knowledge to provide expert recommendations on tackle, bait, rods, reels, and other gear

Process sales transactions accurately using a point-of-sale (POS) system

Stock shelves, organize merchandise displays, and maintain a clean, well-organized sales floor

Monitor inventory levels and assist with receiving and tagging new merchandise

Provide exceptional customer service to locals, tourists, and fishing enthusiasts

Support promotional events, seasonal sales, and upselling of related products and accessories

Requirements:

Previous retail sales or customer service experience preferred

Knowledge of fishing, hunting, water sports, or outdoor recreation is a strong plus

Friendly, outgoing personality with excellent communication skills

Ability to stand for extended periods.

Basic math skills and comfort operating a cash register or POS system, we will train you on our system

Reliable, punctual, and a strong team player

Availability to work weekends, holidays, and peak tourist season hours
