    Suffolk University invites applications for a part-time (20 hours per week), time limited, grant-funded Law Clinical Fellow position in the Law Clinical Program department. The Clinic Fellow will be among a group of several clinical fellows at Suffolk University Law School developing their clinical teaching skills through teaching and supervision in the Suffolk University Law School clinics. During the fellowship, the Fellow will gain experience with clinical supervision and familiarization with clinical pedagogy.  This time limited appointment begins end of August or early September and ends in December (total of 12 weeks).  Exact dates will depend on the candidate's availability to start and coincide with Law School Fall academic calendar.  For full consideration please submit a cover letter along with resume. PRIMARY/PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Supervise Juvenile Justice Clinic (JDC) students in court.
    • Supervise all court related work of JDC students.
    • Meet with each JDC student a minimum of one hour per week and more often as needed.
    • Assist JDC students with maintaining secure and detailed case files.
    • Assist JDC students with maintain Clio entries and reviewing these entries.
    • Reviewing all written work of JDC students.
    • Attending court meetings, client meetings, and any other meetings related to case work; and maintain compliance with ABA Standards governing clinics.

    REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS: 

    • Requires a JD and must be a member in good standing of the Massachusetts bar and qualified to represent clients in Massachusetts State Courts, or able to waive or test into the Massachusetts Bar prior to the commencement of the Fellowship.
    • At least two to three years of relevant substantive experience is also required.
    • Teaching experience is preferred but not required, as is experience participating in a law school clinic.
