    Suffolk University invites qualified candidates to apply for our Staff Psychologist/Counselor opening. The Staff Psychologist/Counselor is responsible for providing direct psychological counseling services and psycho-educational outreach programs to undergraduate, graduate and law students as part of an integrated Counseling, Health and Wellness Center. This is a 20 hour per week position.

    PRIMARY/PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

    REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS

    • D., Ed.D. or Psy.D. in Counseling or Clinical Psychology or MSW.
    • Current license as a psychologist or LICSW in Massachusetts.
    • Training and experience in providing short-term psychotherapy, group therapy and crisis response for diverse adolescents and young adults, preferably with college and university students.
    • Experience and demonstrated knowledge regarding work with adolescents and young adults from multicultural and diverse backgrounds, preferably on a college campus.
    • Interest in the application and integration of social justice in counseling center work.
    • Demonstrated ability to assess and treat students with a broad range of diagnoses.
    • Strong student service orientation.
    • Availability to attend occasional evening or weekend activities and/or provide a program.
