BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER - PLATFORM PARTNERSHIPS
LinkedIn’s Business Development team is responsible for driving growth,
engagement, and monetization globally by identifying, executing, and
managing partnerships and strategic initiatives. We are looking for a
Business Development lead to manage LinkedIn’s relationships with 3rd
party developers that leverage LinkedIn’s developer platform.
The ideal candidate is someone who is passionate about how 3rd parties
can leverage the power of LinkedIn to create valuable services, is able
to develop a deep understanding of LinkedIn’s products and services, and
who excels at the type of strategic thinking that can help identify
win/win scenarios for both LinkedIn’s members and partners. This person
will be a key member of LinkedIn’s Business Development team and will be
expected to help shape the future of LinkedIn’s 3rd party developer
platform in a way that supports LinkedIn’s goal of creating the world’s
first economic graph.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Evaluate the products and services of potential partners who seek to
leverage LinkedIn’s open developer Application Programmer
Interfaces (APIs) to ensure that each potential partner’s products
create value for LinkedIn’s members and developer ecosystem
- Support deal execution with partners & customers, as well as drive
the implementation of the integration once the deal is signed
- Develop processes and systems to manage LinkedIn’s 3rd party
developer platform in an efficient and scalable manner
- Work with 3rd party developers to capture and synthesize insights
from LinkedIn’s developer programs and deliver these insights to the
relevant Product and Engineering leads in an effort to improve
LinkedIn’s platform offerings
- Monitor the ongoing usage of LinkedIn’s APIs by 3rd party developers
to ensure that each developer is continuing to create value for key
stakeholders and is using the platform in a manner that is
consistent with LinkedIn’s terms of service
- Work with LinkedIn’s Business and Corporate Development leads to
identify opportunities for deeper partnerships with high-potential
3rd party developers
- Proactively develop a deep understanding of the key players and
industry dynamics in the consumer Internet, Software as a Service,
and Mobile landscapes
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- BS/BA degree
- 3+ years of work experience
- Experience with analytical and data analysis tools, including Excel,
is required
- Proven project management capabilities; comfortable working under
deadlines and producing key deliverables
- Experience with the consumer Internet, Software as a Service, and/or
mobile spaces
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience in some type of analytical role, e.g. top-tier consulting
firm, investment bank, corporate M&A/corporate strategy, or business
operations
- Sound business judgment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strategic thinking: Ability to conceptualize and drive strategy for
growing and optimizing partner programs, which is tied to impact on
major business goals
- Superior analytical ability: Comfortable with structuring and
conducting quantitative analysis to develop data driven decisions to
grow partnerships, identify new areas of opportunity and demonstrate
business impact of our partnerships to internal and external
stakeholders
