MANAGER, BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT - MARKETING SOLUTIONS
SUMMARY
LinkedIn’s Business Development team is responsible for driving growth,
engagement, and monetization globally through partnerships. The group
has developed partnerships and partner programs that support LinkedIn’s
Marketing Solutions business, including the LinkedIn Marketing Developer
Program, LinkedIn Audience Network and many other innovative
cross-functional partnerships. The Manager, Business Development
position will focus on executing partnerships in support of an exciting
growth area for the business, as well as managing and scaling some of
our key partner programs.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Identify, evaluate and manage new partnerships for LinkedIn’s
Marketing Solutions business
- Negotiate partnership agreements working with the Legal team,
including collaborating with cross functional-teams to drive to
decisions and commitment on deal points
- Conduct business analyses to inform and influence
strategic priorities. Optimize and scale partnerships and partner
programs on an ongoing basis to deliver against key success metrics
and drive impact to the Marketing Solutions business
- Serve as main point of contact and relationship manager between
LinkedIn and key partners
- Maintain a deep understanding of LinkedIn’s Marketing Solutions
business and relevant market landscape
- Work with other groups across the organization, including but not
limited to Sales, Product, Partner Engineering,
Marketing/Communications, and Legal to drive value through
partnerships and visibility of Business Development activities
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Undergraduate degree
- 5+ years of experience in partnership related role (e.g. Business
Development, Partner Management) in a technology company or a
similar role
- Previous experience using data analysis tools including Excel
required
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- MBA preferred
- Experience in some type of analytical role (e.g. consulting firm,
investment bank, corporate M&A/Corporate Strategy or
Business Operations)
- Interest and excitement about LinkedIn’s products, especially within
the Marketing Solutions business; ability to think strategically
about how partnering with 3rd-parties can create compelling new
experiences for LinkedIn’s members and customers
- Demonstrated ability to perform in an entrepreneurial setting,
working independently across multiple groups and thriving in a
high-pressure and rapidly moving environment
- Experience leading and collaborating with cross-functional teams and
managing different stakeholders across multiple work-streams; works
exceptionally well across functional group
- Understanding of the Online Media and Marketing Technology space
- Experience negotiating deals
- Acts like an owner, takes responsibility for one’s actions and for
outcomes related to one’s decisions; passionate about the success of
LinkedIn’s members, customers and partners
- comfortable working under deadlines and producing key deliverables
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
