VIDEO EDITOR, ENGLISH/MANDARIN (TEMPORARY, FULL-TIME)

THIS POSITION IS A TEMPORARY (CONTRACT), FULL-TIME ROLE WITH AN ESTIMATED 40 HOURS A WEEK NEEDED. THIS POSITION MAY BE LOCATED IN SAN FRANCISCO OR LOS ANGELES DEPENDING ON WHICH LOCATION THE CANDIDATE APPROVED FOR HIRE CHOOSES. THE VIDEO EDITOR ROLE CAN BE WORKED OUT OF A HOME OFFICE IN EITHER OF THOSE LOCATIONS.

On the LinkedIn Learning Solutions Content Team, the Video Editor focuses on digital video editing and assists in the production of instructional content, utilizing expertise in Premiere Pro as well as experience with audio enhancement, video compositing, color correction, and compression software. RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Prepare and edit complex screen capture and live action footage using Premiere Pro and other post production applications
• Localize LinkedIn Learning English content to Mandarin by placing localized audio, translated graphics etc. using Adobe Premiere Pro
• Translate graphics assets in Adobe After Effects from Mandarin to English
• Lead and edit time-critical projects
• Ensure the video presents the author’s instruction clearly with concise phrasing and a smooth, even flow by removing unnecessary rephrases, pauses, and other audible distractions and restructuring phrasing as required
• Ensure proper and consistent audio levels in individual videos and throughout the entire training course using different audio processing methods and techniques
• Review and assess each course upon completion in a standardized manner
• Identify better and more efficient ways to tackle different types of complex projects and challenges
• Communicate clearly with Supervisor, Lead Editor and key stakeholders (Producer, Director, Audio Engineer, Graphic Artists) to ensure successful handoffs throughout the post production process
• Troubleshoot and address post production technical issues quickly and effectively

 

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must provide a professional reel or work samples
• Bilingual English / Mandarin
• Experience with Premiere Pro and other post production applications such as After Effects, Audition and Photoshop
• Experience using audio and video compression techniques, using software Adobe Media Encoder

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• A minimum of a 2 year degree in video/film or other related field or equivalent work experience
• Strong communication skills
• Excellent technical and creative problem solving skills
• Ability to anticipate and effectively communicate and solve practical problems or issues
• Ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects when assigned
• Knowledge of various video codecs, framerates etc.
• Have superior project and time management capabilities within a fast paced, high productivity environment
