    SALARY: Commensurate with experience

Our retail branch is known for our stellar customer service! We are growing, and looking for a Loan officer Assistant to join our awesome team!

    POSITION SUMMARY: Work alongside Branch Manager and licensed Loan Officer(s) to maximize productivity. You will be responsible for keeping loans moving forward in an efficient manner and communicating status to loan officers and all parties related to the transaction. EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

    PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Enters the data required on the loan application accurately into the Encompass Loan Origination System
    • Collects the customer documentation necessary as determined by the Mortgage Loan Originator and reviews it for completeness in order to submit the loan application
    • Promptly respond to borrower’s communications, keeping them informed of the loan process as directed by the Mortgage Loan Originator. Maintain customer contact throughout the loan process.
    • Assist Mortgage Loan Officer in managing their pipeline through daily contact with clients and working on loan files.
    • Serve as liaison between loan officer, borrower, underwriter, and funding parties
    • Track key dates of the transaction and monitor overall loan processing cycle time to ensure the loan closes on time.
    • Communicate and coordinate the resolution of issues that can delay the loan closing timeline.
    • Assist with pre-scrubbing files for processing and underwriting
    • Run loans through Automated Underwriting System and review findings.
    • Analyze loan-to-value ratio, debt-to-income ratio, credit report, application, income and assets, source(s) of down payment funds, and examine supporting documentation to identify accuracy.
    • Loan file set up: order 4506-T, order Social Security verification, order VOEs, pull LDP/GSA, pull MERs info, pull USPS verification, verify approved status of title/escrow, pull FHA case number if applicable. Order third-party documentation, including credit checks, title reports, appraisals, tax returns, verification of employment/assets, etc. to identify potential issues.
    • Various administrative tasks such as faxing, copying, mailing, shipping.

    • Requesting Disclosures
    • Assist Loan Officers with any other aspect of the loan closing as directed

     

    DESIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Experience using Encompass LOS is highly desired
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
    • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills required.
    • Knowledge of loan programs and underwriting guidelines. Conventional Fannie/Freddie, FHA, VA, Jumbo, Reverse, Non-QM.
    • Ability to credit qualify borrowers
    • Ability to work with a diverse base of contacts (Loan Officers, clients, agents, lenders, title companies, etc.)
    • Detail-oriented individual with strong organizational skills with the ability prioritize and to multi-task
    • Ability to work with a strong sense of urgency, under pressure, and meet stringent deadlines on a consistent basis
    • Previous experience in retail residential mortgage loan originations strongly desired, preferably as a Loan Officer, Loan Officer Assistant, or Processor.
