If solving challenging cyber security problems from a User Interface perspective excites you and you like to show interesting visualizations to explain complex scenarios in a simple way, this opportunity may be just right for you.  As a UI centric Software Engineer at vArmour, you’ll have the opportunity to do all of that and more. Our UI team has a wide range of experiences that can help you strengthen your skills while we remain eager to learn more skills from experienced engineers like yourself. We collaborate with each other often and like to determine the best approach to solve UI based problems collectively.

We are looking for a seasoned Software Engineer that remains curious and has always had their hands in and out of the UI part of an application. This engineer should be very familiar with React and how it can be used in single page web applications. This engineer will help reshape the core of the application UI while ensuring it is set up for performance and can scale into the future. 

Our ideal candidate is fluent in Web Application architectures and has a high understanding of the browser, the DOM and RESTful APIs. This candidate will additionally have familiarity with the React UI Framework and an understanding of packaged applications versus Software as a Service applications. The role includes not only implementing and suggesting standard approaches to Web Applications but will additionally will mentor other team members in best practices and how to follow common testing principles.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Develop React UI based features using standards and best practices

• Build reusable React UI components for use across different features

• Optimize components and the application to maximize performance and allow for scale

• Collaborate with team members on code quality and test quality standards

• Work alongside UX and Product on feature implementation

• Continuously keep yourself and our application updated with new and best coding practices

• Assist the team in adopting and improving Agile Scrum processes with emphasis on building quality code

WHAT YOU WILL BRING 

• B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent preferred

• 4+ years of experience in front-end development or related disciplines

• Extensive experience with React and its core principles

• Proficient working knowledge of modern JavaScript (ES6), HTML5 and CSS3

• Experience with modern JavaScript tools and frameworks such as Redux, Webpack, Lerna, GraphQL etc

• Familiarity with RESTful APIs

• Great communication skills that invites welcoming discussions

• The ability to understand business requirements and translate them into technical requirements

• Excellent time management skills to deliver prompt and efficient requirements
