We are currently looking for a Sales Assistant to join our team in Chicago Heights, Illinois. PURPOSE OF POSITION Reporting directly to the Vice President, Sales, US or Canada, the Sales Assistant is responsible to successfully support the Sales and Operations of the Sales Division and maintain a superior level of customer service to the Sales Customers. TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES SAFETY: * Complies with all Nortrak Policies and Procedures. QUALITY: * Input of clear and accurate sales orders. Ensure information on bid authorizations and monthly reports is current and accurate. * Maintain proper document control. * Maintains timely and accurate Supply reports for Monthly Invoice/accrual. ON-TIME DELIVERY: * Create and issue accurate timely delivery and sales reports. (E.g. Customer Delivery Reports; Late Open order Reports; Annual Usage Reports). * Process sales orders, bid authorizations and customer submissions in a timely manner. COST: * Assist with preparation of Price Quotes. * Maintain record of quotations, including material and labor estimates. * Pull drawings and review historical SAP costs, as required, to validate margins. * Compile win/loss reports. * Estimates costs for distributed track products and establishes price sheets to be distributed to the team and maintains central supply sourcing records. PEOPLE: * Communicate effectively with customers. (Professional telephone communication; timely responses and follow up). * Maintain excellent internal and external customer relationships. * Liaise between plant production and customers. ENVIRONMENTAL: * Adhere to Nortrak's Environmental Procedures, Practices and Policies. Other duties as assigned QUALITIFCATIONS: EDUCATION: * Secondary School Graduation or equivalent. * Prior Sales and Marketing training preferred. FIELD OF EXPERIENCE: * Minimum one year of working experience. * Experience working in a manufacturing environment an asset. * Demonstrate strong and effective reporting and administrative writing skills. * Possess strong and effective verbal and written communication skills. * Customer Focused. * Knowledge of Microsoft standard programmes. * Enter data into the system in a timely manner - knowledge in SAP applications preferred. PHYSCIAL DEMANDS: * Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. * Occasional standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching or climbing. * Must be able to lift or handle up to 25 pounds at times. * Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. * Occasional travel may be required which includes walking, standing, sitting and driving from short to long periods of time.
