Vulcan Inc. is looking for a Senior Software Development Leader. At Vulcan, you’ll join a TOP-NOTCH TECHNOLOGY TEAM THAT IS RAPIDLY PROTOTYPING AND EXPERIMENTING WITH APPLICATIONS OF THE FUTURE.

As the Senior Leader for the technology team, you will be responsible for managing a small team of engineers with cross-functional capabilities including software design/development of MOBILE APPS, AR/VR, IOT, MOBILE AND MORE. Other responsibilities include product ideation and brainstorming and management of the engineering team. Successful candidates will be a strong leader who can set technical direction, prioritize execution, manage multiple stakeholders, communicate clearly, and have a consistent track record of delivery.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

• Management experience of high-functioning engineering teams
• Start-up experience a plus
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and demonstrated technical leadership
• EXPERIENCE WITH AR/VR a must and Unity is a plus
• EXPERIENCE WITH JAVA, IOS, ANDROID, AWS, AZURE, CLOUD
• Experience in Agile/Scrum software development practices – 1 week sprints
• Proven track record of delivering solutions for challenging problems
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to hire, train, coach and evaluate staff under areas of responsibility
• Partner with stakeholders and clients to ensure business practices and operational support are consistent with company and organizational objectives
• Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Experience influencing the team with best practices in software engineering and operations
• Hands-on expertise in many disparate technologies, typically ranging from front-end user interfaces through to back-end systems and all points in between
• Degree in Computer Science or related field (EE)
• 10+ years of relevant engineering experience
• 8+ years of technical experience as software developer, software development manager, or related role
• 4+ years of relevant experience as a software development manager in a START-UP AND/OR RAPID PROTOTYPING environment
