    POSITION SUMMARY

    The Impact Engineering Team at Vulcan is seeking an innovative, results-oriented Electronics Technician. Working with a talented team, you’ll help to develop Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) technologies. You should be comfortable collaborating in a fast-paced and often uncertain environment, and contributing to innovative solutions, while demonstrating technical competence and attention to detail. You will work with engineers from multiple disciplines to ensure the completed system meets its functional requirements.

    If you are the person destined for this position, you have experience with electronic and electromechanical components and systems along with an upbeat approach to working with colleagues. Additionally, you will have an understanding of technical systems and their development, with a particular emphasis on aviation/aerospace.   

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Other duties may be assigned)

    • Build, assemble, test and validate installation, operation, and performance of UAV systems
    • Install avionics, diagnose, troubleshoot, maintenance, and repair UAVs
    • Document and maintain procedures and design configurations of electrical/electronic components and systems
    • Work with logistics to maintain and organize inventory and communicate the availability of components, subsystems, and custom hardware
    • Work with engineering and operations to build, troubleshoot, and harden prototype designs for lab and field deployment
    • Participate in field trials and incorporate learnings into new and reworked designs
    • Assist in commissioning new aircraft from assembly to in-house test to field trials

    BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

    • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent experience
    • Proficient with basic hand tools
    • Experienced with soldering, multi-meters, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers
    • Strong skills in debugging, performance optimization and unit testing
    • Experience working with electromechanical systems in a development environment.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team on rapid development programs

    BONUS QUALIFICATIONS

    • Experience with drone/UAS system development
    • Familiarity with Altium or similar PCB authorship tool
    • Experience with programming - C, Java, and Python languages preferred
    • Experience in authorship of test plans and design documentation
