New York Public Radio is a multi-platform public media organization and the parent company of WNYC Radio (93.9 FM and AM 820), WQXR Classical Radio (105.9 FM), New Jersey Public Radio, The Jerome L. Greene Performance Space, WNYC Studios, Gothamist, and national programs Radiolab, On the Media, and Here’s the Thing, among others. New York Public Radio seeks a Development Associate to support NYPR’s institutional giving team, which oversees approx. $6.4 million annually in grants from major foundations, government agencies, and corporate foundations. Major responsibilities include:
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Verifiable 2+ year history of institutional giving experience and/or development for a non-profit institution, preferably located in New York City.
Excellent writing and editing skills, including strong oral communication skills
Experience working with an array of institutional funders (government, foundations, etc)
Strong organizational and time management skills, including a very high attention to detail and precision.
Proven project and time management skills and the ability to prioritize competing deadlines and priorities.
Experience in assembling budgets for grant proposals and financial reports.
A problem solver and quick study; proactive, creative, and motivated; calm under pressure.
Knowledge of and appreciation for public radio a plus.
Experience using sophisticated fund raising database products and fundraising research products.
Bachelor’s degree preferred.
