New York Public Radio (NYPR) seeks an intern to support the Patron Programs (which cultivates and solicits donors giving $1,000-$24,999 annually) and the Major Gifts team (which cultivates and solicits donors giving $25,000 or more annually).
RESPONSIBILITIES
QUALIFICATIONS
The successful candidate will be highly energetic with superior attention to detail and a strong interest in building donor relationships, database management and event management. Must have exceptional organization and time management skills. Demonstrates strong communication skills—both oral and written—and able to build and maintain relationships with people at all levels of an organization, across a diverse range of cultural, generational, ethnic, racial, educational and social backgrounds. Must be able to work both independently and as part of a team. An interest in public media is a plus.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Computer Skills: Excellent computer skills are required. Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook are required. General understanding of how fundraising databases function is a plus.
ELIGIBILITY
Any student (undergraduate or graduate) or person who has graduated no more than 12 months prior to the start of the internship period to which he/she is applying. Interns must be authorized to work in the United States.
Interns are eligible to receive college credit.
