Job Description
We are seeking a Junior Data Analyst who is looking to be given a lot of responsibility quickly. As part of a small dynamic consulting team, you will assist our client in the area of international business strategy.
The Jr. Data Analyst will collect, analyze and interpret data sets to identify weaknesses, trends, or opportunities for the client organization and effectively communicate the information to assist client management and stakeholders in making data-driven business decisions. To succeed in this role, we need you need to be organized, curious, and creative, and possess solid statistical and mathematical analytic skills as well as the ability to present your findings with simplicity and clarity.
WHAT ARE YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES?
- Use statistical tools to interpret data sets, paying particular attention to trends and patterns that could be valuable for diagnostic and predictive analytics efforts.
- Demonstrate the significance of data analytics in the context of global trends that impact both the client organization and industry.
- Prepare data visualizations and analysis reports for client management that effectively communicate trends, patterns, and predictions using relevant data.
- Work collaboratively and transparently with the client’s stakeholder teams.
- Together with x2 solutions’ international policy and strategy team research and analyze international policy and business issues and competitive trends to create concise and engaging decision support documents
REQUIRED SKILLS:
- Must be proficient in the use of MS Excel, data visualization software such as Qlik, SAS or Tableau, and standard Microsoft office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Knowledge of database languages such as SQL, R, or Python is a plus.
- Ability to visualize information and data in support of a concise and compelling story-line and deliver presentations.
- Ability to prioritize and manage a variety of assignments simultaneously, with an exceptional attention to detail and accountability.
- Ability to work both independently and within a team setting.
- Ability to think critically and synthesize various sources of data into actionable assessments.
- Strong interpersonal and presentation skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Must have completed undergraduate degree in related discipline.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Candidate needs to be highly self-organized and objective driven.
- Candidate must be authorized to work in the US and be a resident of the US for the previous 5 years with no longer than a 90-day absence, with the ability to obtain and retain a US government security clearance.
- Candidate should be prepared to travel to client site in Washington, DC routinely
