At Generation Teach, we are on a journey to increase our consciousness, develop as antiracists, and become better allies and ancestors. Since 2014, we have co-created learning communities where over 5,000 5th-8th-grade students, 1,000 undergraduate and high-school students, and 280 professional teachers have learned, grown, and developed.
We partner with districts and charter schools to:
Engage elementary- and middle-school students in summer learning.
Invest undergraduate and high-school students in teaching.
Develop professional teachers as leaders.
We facilitate learning experiences that center the history, stories, and strength of people of color and provide all participants with windows and mirrors of their own lived experiences.
On average, our summer teaching fellows are:
75% people of color
60% Black and/or Latinx
75% local - they grew up or attend college in our communities
40% First Gen
