- Identified need, hired and managed full-time Spanish interpreter and full-time staff interpreter. Developed/launched Linguistic and Cultural Competent initiatives: Culturally and Linguistically Appropriate Standards, (CLAS). Developed trainings to provide alternative to patchwork of independently developed definitions, practices, and requirements concerning CLAS. Initiated project to develop recommended national CLAS standards to support consistent, comprehensive approach to cultural/linguistic competence in health care
