overview
• When I graduated from high school, I decided to try to give back to Sidwell Friends School (which I attended for over 10 years) by helping coach at the school's soccer camp. As a varsity soccer player and wrestler throughout high school, I know how important sports can be to kids. It can help shape your will power, cooperativeness, and discipline just to name a few attributes. The summer before college, I was bombarded with a large amount of kids, and it was definitely an experience I was not used to! However, I soon formed bonds with my colleagues as well as the kids in the camp. I saw many kids form a passion for soccer, and I was astounded that I could make a difference in only a matter of a couple months. The skills I learned from this experience was to learn how to motivate and be responsible for others. I believe this can be used in the work field in leadership aspect with my colleagues, as well as in a collaborative sense.
