- Developed a technical recommendation for a catalyst change in an adsorption vessel - Collected data using samples and mass balances to verify the run life of material and compared to catalyst run life provided by vendors - Performed risk analysis and economic analysis to determine the recommended new catalyst - Determined feasibility of replacement of methane with nitrogen for reactor regenerations - Performed energy balance to determine necessary nitrogen flow rates to meet energy requirements - Using nitrogen instead of methane would allow for higher production rates as methane requires rate cuts to meet purity specs - Back-filled contact engineer. Monitored the unit's health via a monitoring package as well as held discussions with Operations when unit upsets occurred
