- Used Matlab to simulate operation of a buck converter, an AC-DC rectifier and a DC-AC inverter under both ideal and non-ideal conditions and generated plots of current and voltage over various components in the circuits
- Specifications provided an input voltage and switching frequency as well as desired values for average output voltage and power delivered. Using this information, component values were calculated
- Programming consisted of sub functions using methods such as comparing the duty cycle to the Fourier series of a triangle wave, 180 degree switching, and sine-triangle modulation to simulate transistor states at given times and using differential equations in a backward Euler integration algorithm to estimate component currents over time
- Non-ideal conditions were simulated by making slight changes to account for given voltage drops over transistors and diodes
