Proposed a network design for LEO satellites, optimizing network stability and efficiency. Utilized a hierarchical addressing scheme and a novel routing scheme to streamline logical and physical mappings, minimizing frequent updates and detours.
Implemented an IPv6 prototype in Linux, extending Quagga for seamless addressing and routing, leveraging existing IPv6 routing table and forwarding engine for efficient prefix-based routing.
Conducted evaluations using STK and Mininet, demonstrating high performance with over 99% network availability, less than 1.5% delay increments, and a 36-fold decrease in routing updates, achieving near-optimal results with minimal overhead.
