- Created a safe and progressive space for students to use their first language skills - Worked with first year Emergent Bilingual students to gain early literacy skills - Adjusted teaching methods according to each student's individual needs: EBs, SPED, etc - Followed teachers lesson plans to maintain the same level of academic learning - Worked with students who required intervention to bring them to the same academic level as the rest of the class - Guide students to reach the 7 habits of the school to keep them focused on academic tasks as well as social and emotional growth - Keep students motivated in an academic environment: Build background with students to connect - Maintain classroom management: Connect academic concepts with local culture or the culture of the families of the students - During academic learning provide students to interact with peers, walk around to maintain - Model material so students are aware of what is being asked of them
