- Monitors availability, performance and security of computer systems software including operating and network systems and utilities, servers and other hardware and related application systems. (Windows Server 2008, Windows Server 2016, Active Directory, Group Policy, Exchange, Sophos Antivirus, Cisco ASA Firewalls, PaloAlto Firewalls, Symantec BackupExec, Debian Linux, Ubuntu Linux, Nagios, Zabbix, Windows Firewall, UFW, Iptables, Netflilter, Shorewall, rsync, rsnapshot - Installs, configures and documents computer systems software, hardware and related applications systems. (Servers are configured and deployed via VMware vCenter on VMware ESXi. Installation, configuration, updates and package management of network operating systems using Ansible and DesktopCentral - Adds and removes systems software and hardware according to established procedures. (Ansible, DesktopCentral - Responds to basic technical and workstation support requests from users and technical staff. (Freshworks help desk - Installs and maintains hardware, software and peripheral equipment for user workstations. (Dell PCs or Laptops, Windows 10 or Ubuntu Desktop Linux - Performs routine maintenance of hardware and software in conformance with established procedures. (Monitoring via Nagios/Zabbix with real-time notifications via email, SMS, and Slack app/bot to IT Support channels - Troubleshoots basic hardware and software problems. (Windows Event Logs, System Journal, syslog, Anacron, Crondaemon, Wireshark, Solarwinds - Creates monitors, modifies and maintains user accounts and implements systems use policies. (Active Directory, SAMBA, LDAP - Assists in data backup and disaster recovery. (VM Hosts utilize NAS via NexentaFusion/Stor, rsynced to CoLo SAN - Assists in responding to security breaches, service interruptions, and other critical situations. (I built custom Slack apps/bots to notify IT personnel utilizing Python - Monitors resource use including internal memory and disk space. (Nagios, Zabbix - Participates in the coordination of systems activities and communicates with other internal and external systems staff. (Microsoft Outlook, Zoom, Gsuite, Slack, Teams - Participates in systems planning, design and development and systems hardware and software projects
