    • Assist professional staff by scheduling appointments, facilitating office meetings, and completing office projects and daily tasks • Collaborated alongside professional advisor supervisor to develop new comprehensive training manual for future peer advisors • Connected with outside advising offices and campus resources to obtain materials to include in new training manual • Provide students with the ability to navigate campus resources and support for academic programs, career planning, health and wellness, and recreational information • Organized training materials to facilitate a user-friendly and efficient training experience for future peer advisors • Lead Peer Advisor, Transfer Student Orientation & Advising Registration • Presented enrollment tools to groups of 4-16 students to teach them how to register for classes • Helped coordinate and support a staff of 19 peer advisors and 24 professional advisors to effectively implement UWMadison’s new student orientation program • Work with advising team of 4 peer advisors and 3 professional advisors to assess individual needs and goals of approximately 1000 undergraduate students each semester using motivational interviewing in order to create personalized academic and career success strategies • Facilitated discussion with groups of 4-7 students to assist them in making academic and career decisions • Organized staff schedules and advising workgroups of 3-5 peer and professional advisors in an effort to maximize program efficiency • Anticipated potential problems and developed effective solutions in order to maintain a pleasant work environment and smooth work day • Used effective communication skills to quickly and genuinely connect with up to 7 students in a short time frame • Provided individually-appropriate academic advising to new incoming freshmen and transfer students and brainstormed innovative solutions to meet the unique and diverse needs of each student
