Provide one-on-one consultation with students seeking guidance and resolving educational and personal challenges.
• Advocates for students’ needs and rights ensuring they receive appropriate and timely services.
• Partners closely with the Dean of Students and Wellness teams at the University and liaises with administrative departments and faculty throughout the University, serving as a member of the Students of Concern team.
• Serves as a point of contact and provides consultation for campus community members who are seeking guidance and advice about St. John’s or community services for students who may be experiencing distress; also communicates possible intervention steps and procedures.
• Coordinates with representatives from various departments including Student Conduct, Residence Life, Office of Disability Services, Public Safety, Center for Counseling and Consultation, Office of the General Counsel, and appropriate staff and faculty across the university for collaboration with various events.
• Establishes and maintains productive relationships with on and off-campus stakeholders, serving as a key point of contact to coordinate resources and support for students.
• Provides direct supervision to a graduate assistant, overseeing their daily tasks and professional development.
• Contributes as an active member of the Student Resiliency and Wellbeing Strategic Planning Workgroup, collaborating with diverse stakeholders to develop and implement initiatives that promote student resilience and wellbeing.
• Created and led Buddy Quest, a semester-long social connection program for first-year students to ease their transition into college life.
• Contributed to university retention and engagement goals by enhancing student life and aligning with strategic initiatives to deepen campus connection.
• Designed and implemented engaging events to help students understand and regulate their emotions by providing practical coping mechanisms and increase their sense of self.
• Conducted all marketing efforts for case management services to increase student engagement and program visibility.
• Developed the mission, philosophy, and vision for the case management program and established its core objectives.
• Selected and implemented the case management model to ensure effective student support and service delivery.
• Led the response to all early alerts for first-year students, meeting individually with students to address concerns raised by professors and develop solutions.
• Played a key role in revamping the early alert system to improve efficiency and responsiveness.
• Collaborated with professors to address student concerns and support academic success.
