Grief & Loss Counselor

- Duties - Initiate client biopsychosocial intakes for referrals received from the school district - Obtain a clear background of loss history for each referral and prepare activities to benefit each individual need - Engage clients on a weekly basis within their schools. Engagement will include activities and discussion relating to grief and loss as well as topics of Dialectical Behavior Therapy skill-building - Assess each client's strengths and weaknesses to offer continued support for healthy grieving - Complete client notes after each session with observations of each interaction - Plan and schedule group activities for clients that offer a safe place for grief discussions and activities - Attend any employee meeting and training sessions such as Therapeutic Crisis Intervention on a quarterly basis
