Budget Analyst

 Conduct thorough assessment of financial data for budget planning and forecasting, while keeping budget records and documentation up to date to ensure accuracy.  Initiate the preparation and submission of general ledger journals to move revenues, expenditures, and fund equity, as well as budget journals to revise or create cost center revenue and expenditure budgets.  Review revenue, expenditures, actuals, and fund balance in coordination with assigned departments.  Evaluate expenditure trends to identify areas to resolve negatives and reduce costs.  Perform financial analysis to provide recommendations for improving budget performance.  Use Oracle and financial systems to manage budgeting processes effectively. Notable Accomplishments:  Facilitated department-wide training sessions resulting in increased efficiency in budget processes and faster turnaround times for voucher and requisition requests.  Contributed to the development of annual budgets, while ensuring timely completion and adherence to financial constraints.  Managed $20M in designated areas, thus achieving a 7% decrease in overall budget expenditures, facilitating carryover of excess budget, and implementing cost-saving measures.
