overview
• Conducted exploratory data analysis in Python and R to show correlations between road life cycles, road systems, surface type, location, and surface treatment to aid Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) in creating an annual budget for road resurfacing.
• Generated 3D graphs, using Matplotlib, to visualize the progression of deterioration for all three pavement quality categorizations (crack, rut, ride, raveling) over the past 30 years and the percentage of roads affected.
• Created maps of FDOT managed pavements conditions for the past 5 years using ArcGIS to identify districts of high raveling severity and analyze correlations between crack rating and raveling severity.
