Lead Installation Technician
Charlotte, NC
$35-$42/hour + take-home vehicle + tools provided

This role is for a security installer who is already operating like the person everyone else on the job calls when something is off. A growing regional integrator in the Charlotte market needs a lead technician who can run access control, CCTV, and video projects without hand-holding, keep work moving in the field, and raise the level of the junior techs around them. If you are strongest when you are on a live jobsite solving real problems, keeping customers confident, and making sure the install gets done right the first time, this is the kind of seat worth looking at.

What You Get to Do

Lead installation work on access control, CCTV, and video security projects across the Charlotte region
Handle full field execution from device installation through panel terminations, head-end work, programming, testing, and commissioning
Read prints, lay out the work, and keep projects moving without needing constant direction from the office
Troubleshoot install and system issues in the field and make clean decisions that keep the project on track
Coach and develop junior technicians on installation quality, jobsite discipline, and troubleshooting approach
Serve as the on-site lead with customers, project stakeholders, and other trades
Travel to job sites within roughly 2 hours of Charlotte with no overnight travel
Represent the company well by running organized, professional jobs and closing projects out cleanly

What You Have Already Done

You have already led security installation projects in the field, not just assisted on them
You have real hands-on experience with access control, CCTV, and video installations
You have done panel terminations, device installation, head-end work, light programming, and commissioning
You can read prints and turn them into an organized plan on the jobsite
You have handled troubleshooting without needing someone else to take over the hard parts
You have worked safely on lifts and know how to operate professionally on active jobsites
You have been the person customers trust on site because you communicate clearly and solve problems without drama
You have helped bring along less experienced techs and can teach while still getting the work done
You are at a mid- to high-level technically, and you do not need babysitting to finish quality work

Why You Would Do It

This opening exists because the company is growing, not because they are trying to backfill a mess. For the right lead installer, that matters. You are stepping into a role where your ability to run work, solve problems, and develop younger techs will be valued immediately. The pay is straightforward at $35-$42/hour, the company provides a take-home vehicle and tools, and the territory stays manageable within about two hours of Charlotte with no overnight travel. For someone who still likes being in the field but wants to be trusted as the lead, this is a strong conversation.
