Our client is a direct-to-consumer meat delivery service focused on humane and sustainable farming. They offer a wide selection of 100% American-born and humanely harvested meat, poultry, pork, and seafood. They are seeking a Chief Marketing Officer to take full ownership of a broad, talented marketing organization and lead the next chapter of growth for a brand that has been scaling rapidly. This executive will own the marketing function, setting direction, building the structure and accountability the team needs to perform at its best, and allowing the Founder to step into the role of brand ambassador. The ideal candidate pairs executive-level sophistication with a scrappy, hands-on approach and the confidence to challenge the status quo.

This is an in-person role, reporting to our client's office in south Houston, TX 5 days a week.

Responsibilities:
\- Act as the true owner of the marketing function, setting strategy and making decisions independently, rather than routing them back to the Founder
\- Take a candid look at the current marketing team, programs, and agency relationships, keep what is working, change what is not, and stand behind those calls
\- Lead, unify, and develop a multidisciplinary team spanning analytics, performance marketing, creative and graphic design, media buying, and web development
\- Drive continued growth of the subscription D2C business, owning customer acquisition, CRM, lifecycle marketing, and retention
\- Oversee direct response and performance marketing across paid social, search, and traditional media including podcast, radio, and television
\- Manage the full marketing budget, allocating spend for the strongest possible return and tying every investment to measurable business outcomes
\- Put in place the processes, systems, KPIs, and accountability structures needed to manage people, budget, day-to-day execution, and results at scale
\- Grow brand awareness through integrated creative campaigns across online and offline channels, sharpening messaging around product quality, American sourcing, and protein content
\- Partner with web development and analytics teams to improve site conversion, the e-commerce experience, and marketing measurement
\- Work alongside the Founder to amplify his presence as brand evangelist, ensuring his public-facing efforts complement a marketing engine that runs on its own
\- Help evaluate new avenues for growth, including emerging retail partnerships and packaged CPG product lines

Qualifications:
\- 10+ years of senior marketing leadership experience leading a sizable, multidisciplinary marketing organization through a period of rapid growth
\- Deep expertise in subscription-based or direct-to-consumer e-commerce marketing
\- Proven track record in direct response and digital performance marketing, with a clear ability to connect spend to revenue results
\- Strong background in CRM and retention marketing
\- Experience building brand awareness and leading multichannel creative campaigns across digital and traditional media
\- Highly analytical and data-driven, comfortable using marketing analytics to guide decisions and hold teams accountable
\- Demonstrated success managing significant marketing budgets, evaluating agency partnerships, and improving marketing efficiency
\- Experience building processes, systems, and structure within a growing, founder-led company
\- Entrepreneurial, scrappy leader who is as comfortable in the details of execution as in setting strategy, with the confidence to push back, operate independently, and own outcomes
\- Experience in conversion rate optimization, digital product, retail, CPG, or product development is a plus
